One of Germany's top teenage talents Christopher Buchtmann can still hardly believe that he has signed for Liverpool.
The 16-year-old midfielder, who was recruited from Borussia Dortmund's youth system last month, told RevierSport of the pride he feels to be officially on the books at Liverpool, and said the clincher was when he was flown to attend a League Cup clash against Cardiff last season.
“When the fans start to sing, you do not know what to say,” enthused Buchtmann, who is comfortable on the left side of both midfield and defense.
“I want to spend some time at Anfield. Apparently Steven Gerrard sometimes visits the junior games and talks with the players," he added.
“My whole life I have had enough English to survive, but if I had known I would need a Liverpudlian accent, I would probably have been more attentive at school!"
