Palmeiras goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri is reportedly very close to agreeing a move to Liverpool.
According to the Liverpool Echo, The Reds are willing to offer a fee in the region of 5 million euros for the 26-year-old keeper, who broke into Palmeiras' senior squad in 2002.
Cavalieri's arrival at Anfield will signal the departure of Scott Carson, who has returned to the club following a season on loan at Aston Villa and whose sale will allow Rafael Benítez to cash in £10 million.
The Brazilian custodian did not join the Palmeiras squad gathering in Atibaia and he is reported to be already in Europe to secure a work permit.
Cavalieiri, who is Palmeiras' second-choice keeper behind Marcos, is expected to be announced by Liverpool next week.
