The rumours of the last few days regarding Norwegian full back John Arne Riise did not leave much space for speculations, and neither did his brief visit to Rome. The former Liverpool player's future is no longer in doubt: he has just signed a contract with AS Roma, who announced the transfer on a note on its official website. Liverpool will receive 5 million euros in exchange, to be paid in four terms before January 2010. As usual, there are a series of bonuses connected to results of the team and performances of the player. Riise will be paid 2.8 million euros for the next four seasons until 2012. The Norwegian international had joined the Reds in 2001, winning a number of trophies, including the Champions League in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006.
