Fernández targetted by Benitez

Reports from Spain suggest Arsenal and Liverpool have entered the race to sign Chile international Matías Fernández.

Bolton Wanderers have made already made a bid for the Villarreal star and Blackburn Rovers have made their interest in the player known, according to the player's agent.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has a €50m release clause in his contract but, as none of the interested clubs are prepared to pay that amount, he's expected to be sold for much less.
