SISSOKO SEALS JUVENTUS SWITCH

Jimmy Rice 29 January 2008
Liverpool Football Club have this afternoon confirmed the sale of Momo Sissoko to Juventus.
The Mali international is away at the African Nations but took time out for a medical and talks over personal terms.

Sissoko spent nearly three years at Anfield, arriving from Valencia in July 2005 amid comparisons with Patrick Vieira. His all-action style ensured he quickly became a fans' favourite.

The 23-year-old was one of the star performers in the club's FA Cup final victory over West Ham in 2006.

Two serious injuries – to his eye and shoulder – disrupted his form but there's no doubting the quality he displayed in his first two seasons at Anfield.

Sissoko leaves the club after 86 appearances and a single goal – a 25-yard strike against Sunderland earlier this season.
