Liverpool Football Club have this afternoon confirmed the sale of Momo Sissoko to Juventus. | |
The Mali international is away at the African Nations but took time out for a medical and talks over personal terms. Sissoko spent nearly three years at Anfield, arriving from Valencia in July 2005 amid comparisons with Patrick Vieira. His all-action style ensured he quickly became a fans' favourite. The 23-year-old was one of the star performers in the club's FA Cup final victory over West Ham in 2006. Two serious injuries – to his eye and shoulder – disrupted his form but there's no doubting the quality he displayed in his first two seasons at Anfield. Sissoko leaves the club after 86 appearances and a single goal – a 25-yard strike against Sunderland earlier this season. from Liverpoolfc.tv |
